The Price of Prom
Prom, although just one night, is the world to most teenage girls, and only happens once in a lifetime. What if YOU were the reason to make a young girl's dream come true. The chance to play a real life fairy godmother. The truth is, with magical nights, comes some serious expenses. For some it may have been awhile since you attended prom, but times have changed, and so has the price of prom. How much does a prom dress, hair, and make up cost today? We know it’s not cheap but we decided to dig a little deeper.
Prom costs today can average anywhere from $175 to $2100! The costs of attending prom can vary greatly by region, and what you choose to spend the most on can depend upon your prom budget.
THE DRESS
With the average prom dress ranging from $100 to $600, the prom dress is by far the biggest priority, and probably the most important piece of the prom budget for the average teenage girl. Also the reason many girls do not attend prom. Because of this expense, we have an opportunity to make a difference. Here at PromSeries we have an abundance of dresses for the girls to try on, they can try on as many as they like, until they find the perfect one. Seeing their faces light up and the smiles they can’t wipe off, makes what we do so worth it
SHOES
With an average of $30-$150, it's clear that dresses aren’t the only prom expense. SHOES, SHOES, SHOES, what's the point of the perfect dress if you don’t have the matching shoes. Like stated before, it’s our chance to be fairy godmothers, to share our blessings. The girls will have access to all they need to put a complete prom package together.
JEWELRY
Prom jewelry can cost as little or as much as you want to spend, but most prom goers spend $25-$100. The goal is to help coordinate their jewelry to their prom dress. Prom isn’t just about that magical night, it's about everything leading up to it, and we want that to be a magical experience as well.
PURSE/CLUTCH
If your prom dress doesn't have pockets, or you like the convenience of a purse, keep in mind that most prom bags or clutches cost anywhere from $10 to $100. We like to create a purse that doubles as a utility tote, with all the essentials they need for a flawless prom night.
HAIR/MAKEUP/NAILS
Hair, makeup, and/or nails, the cost for these prom preparations can be anywhere from $30 to $275. But what these girls get is much better, they get us. A group of women who are ready to do their hair, makeup, and nails, until they feel like a princess. It's a magical night, not just for them, but for us as well.
The purpose of the prom series is to curate a once in a lifetime experience for foster girls to build her confidence and worth through a pre-prom pampering event. What we are doing here is more than just prom dresses, we have the opportunity to make an impact, to create memories that wouldn’t be possible without women coming together to make sure that EVERY GIRL IS WORTH IT. More importantly that EVERY GIRL is entitled to the same prom experience.
